Sword of the Gendarmes of the Royal Guard. Iron musketeer style mounting with remains of gilding, melon ribbed pommel, braided copper ferrules, complex multi-wire copper filigree. Triangular blade with off-center edge engraved "Gendarme de la garde du Roy", double monogram L framed with fleur-de-lys (a large fleur-de-lys above and below the Ls and a smaller fleur-de-lys on each side). At the heel drawings of the "cocq fou" and mention "Le Cocq Fou - de la maison - rue Royale - Dauphine". Total length 98,5 cm, blade 81,5 cm, width at the heel 27 mm, SF. A sword cane, ebony handle mounted with a lighter blade with similar engravings is attached. Total length 84.5 cm, blade 77.5 cm, width at heel 22 mm, SF. The design of the frame and the asymmetrical triangular blade correspond to the model of the royal bodyguards. The gold color corresponds to the uniform of the gendarmes of the guard who wear gold braids and buttons. This weapon has never been described in the specialized literature and seems to be a unique piece.
