Aboriginal art - Lot 82
Aboriginal art NABARDAYAL LOFTY "Marsupial" Natural inks on eucalyptus bark numbered on the back M328. Provenance: purchased in Darwin, northern Australia, 1975 Lofty is one of the great artists of the Oenpelli region in Arnhem Land's famous Kakadu Park. He painted on bark, but also at the end of his life on paper. His paintings can be found in major private and public collections. It is rare to see a dingo depicted on bark, as you have to be a great initiate to be allowed to paint it. This bark is in fairly good condition for its age, with the paper still present, showing a few details about the painting and the artist. 56x30 cm
